Using the MBTI® in Asian CulturesIntroduction The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® Instrument is a selfreport personality inventory.The MBTI® was developed by Isabel Myers and Katherine Briggs to enable individuals to grow through ''an understanding and appreciation of individual differences in healthy personalities and to enhance harmony and productivity through diverse groups.'' It was developed based on the work of Carl Gustav Jung, a renowned Swiss Psychologist. With over 50 years of research and development flowing into it, the MBTI® has remained the most widely used instrument in the world for understanding personality differences.
